Spectrometric analysis and surface roughness measurement

We use analysis and measurement instruments to characterise surfaces, establish working parameters and check texture after an intervention. Spectrometric analysis and roughness measurement support control of the laser cleaning process.

Spectrometric analysis

X-ray spectrometer

Using an X-ray spectrometer, we determine the chemical composition of alloys on the surfaces analysed. The results help characterise the surface and set laser working parameters in relation to the substrate.

When defining parameters, we aim to keep working energy below the surface ablation threshold to avoid damaging it.

Available as a standalone service: spectrometric analysis can be requested independently, without purchasing laser cleaning.

Surface roughness measurement

Digital roughness tester

With a digital roughness tester, we measure roughness and characterise surface texture. Measurements can help check a surface after an intervention and assess its characteristics against the requirements of the application.

This information is also useful when a surface is to be prepared for subsequent protective coatings.

Available as a standalone service: roughness measurement can be requested independently, without purchasing laser cleaning.
